LO cross country boys on hot streak

The Lake Orion High School boys cross country team walked away with victories over Troy Athens and Birmingham Seaholm on Oct. 5, while the Lake Orion girls defeated Seaholm, but fell to Athens.
The boys team got by Athens, 25-32, and Seaholm, 22-33.
The girls stormed by Seaholm, 23-32, and were unable to get by Athens, who won 23-37.
Lake Orion’s Billy Peterson finished first with a time of 16:38, while Rob Shinouskis was third for the Dragons at 17:01.
Drew Collette finished fourth for Lake Orion (17:28), rounding out their top 10 finishers.
From the Lake Orion girls team, Katie Reilly was second at a time of 20:20.4, while Kaitlyn Wightman was third at 21:17.1 for the team.
Sarah Lieblein rounded out the top 10 for Lake Orion finishing in 10th with a time of 22:05.8.
The Dragons ran in the Oakland County meet on Oct. 9 at Kensington Metropark, where the boys team finished fourth with 209.
Lake Orion’s Billy Peterson finished ninth (16:44) in his second race of the year after recovering from an injury.
For the Lake Orion girls, Katie Reilly finished in 20th with a time of 20:35.
Both teams competed in a tri meet on Oct. 12 at Bloomer Park, and travel to the Oxford Invite on Friday.
