A few years ago, Oakland County commissioners decided to assist municipalities with infrastructure improvements that benefited the environment.
Lake Orion Village Council members applied for these funds to help pay for the North Shore Bridge reconstruction. The village recently received a check from the county for $57,266.
According to LO Village Manager JoAnn Van Tassel, that amount was over $2,000 more than had been anticipated. She said the extra money was interest income the county realized while those funds remained in their hands.
The village also received a mini-grant for $1,500 to help pay for the summer concert series sponsored by Downtown Lake Orion in July and Augu
