Girl skiiers head to regionals in 2nd place

As the ski season comes to an end, the Brandon-Oxford Girls Ski Team is making a strong bid for regionals later this month.
In league competition, the girls team finished the season with four wins and one loss.
After the Feb. 3 meet at Mt. Holly, the girls overall standing is now second place in the division behind Flushing.
In the divisional meet Karen Offer placed third with 1:03.25 total score, Miranda Christen placed sixth at 1:07.72, Grace Auchterlonie placed ninth at 1:10.18.
On the Giant Slalom Karen Offer placed fourth at 48:09, Miranda Christen 8th at 50:47, and Grace Auchterloni ninth at 51:16.
The boys placed fifth at the divisionals behind Fenton, Holly, Flushing, and Powers in both the slalom and Giant Slalom.
On the slalom, Aaron VanDis and Robert Krug tied for ninthth place with a 1:01.84.
On the Giant Slalom, Krug remained in ninth place with a 47.69.
The girls were victorious in a Feb. 2 meet against Fenton with a score of 31-44.
In the slalom, Karen Offer placed second, Grace Auchterlonie third, Miranda Christen, fourth, and Lauren Bayliss placed sixth.
On the Giant Slalom Offer took second, Auchterlonie third, Christen fourth, and Bayliss came in eighth place.
The boys team lost to Fenton.
In slalom, Robert Krug placed fifth, Aaron VanDis was seventh, Shaun Dean eighth, and Trevor Fox ninth.
In the Giant Slalom, Krug took fourth place, Dean sixth, VanDis seventh, and Chris Platt came in eighth.
Regionals will take place at Pine Knob on Feb. 17.
