Creative kids selected as state finalists

Two Stadium Elementary School of the Arts students? entries in the Reflections Program were recently chosen as state finalists.
Gabrielle Phillips? entry, ‘My Dad is a Hero,? was chosen to receive the award of merit in the music category. She is a kindergartner in Ms. Burke’s class.
Kyle Thrushman earned an award of merit for his entry, ‘A Different Kind of Hero – My Grandfather,? in the photography category. He’s a fifth grade student in Ms. Manzo’s class.
The two students have been invited to attend a special Reflections ceremony held in their honor at the Michigan PTSA 87th Annual Convention at the Somerset Inn in Troy on April 30.
The winning entries are highlighted and the children will receive their awards at this ceremony.
All visual arts and photography entries will be on display at Design-in-Time in Birmingham, April 1-17, the Lansing Center on April 21 and at the Michigan PTSA Convention.
