Author to share stories at Independece Library

Award winning novelist Elizabeth McCracken will speak at Independence Township Library on April 14 at 3:30 p.m. in the Youth Activities Room.
This free program is the culmination of the fourth annual metro-area Everyone’s Reading program which features McCracken’s books: Niagara Falls All Over Again, The Giant’s House and Here’s Your Hat What’s Your Hurry.
This is the first year that an Everyone’s Reading featured author has appeared in the Clarkston area.
Elizabeth McCracken is a novelist and short story writer whose work has been praised for both its endearing characters and its storylines about loving relationships.
McCracken was born in 1966 and grew up in Boston. She attended Boston University, received a masters in fine arts from the University of Iowa and earned a masters of library science at Drexel University.
In addition to her books, she has been published in the New York Times Magazine and Esquire. After working in libraries from the age of 15, Elizabeth McCracken now writes full-time and resides in Somerville, Massachusetts. She is working on her fourth book.
Recognized by Granta magazine as one of the twenty ‘Best American Novelists? under forty and a National Book Award finalist, Elizabeth McCracken will speak about her writing and answer questions. Copies of her books will be available for sale and signing at the program.
