A 25-year-old Davisburg man was arrested on April 21 after running from the scene of a crash and causing public safety agencies to conduct a search for what they believed could have been an injured driver.
Oakland County Sheriff units and the Independence Township Fire Department were dispatched to Clarkston and Pine Knob roads, where they found a vehicle crashed in the woods off the south side of the roadway.
Crews were joined by a sheriff helicopter and K-9 unit, but the driver could not be found.
Then, according to reports, two different calls helped deputies find the suspect. Security officers at DTE Energy Music Theater saw someone running through a parking area, and deputies were called to another home for a report of a stolen vehicle.
The suspect attempted to report the vehicle as stolen, but deputies took him to the music theater, where security personnel identified him.
The suspect, who also had a felony arrest warrant out of Waterford, said he panicked after the crash and ran to his girlfriend’s house.
Deputies took the man to North Oakland Medical Center-Clarkston for treatment, then to the Oakland County Jail, reports said.
