A 26-year-old Grosse Pointe Woods man ran through flares set out after a car crash on I-75 near M-15 just after midnight on April 24.
That led deputies to stop the offender, which led to the discovery of heroin and hallucinogenic mushrooms, all prepared for sale.
When deputies stopped the suspect vehicle and asked for identification, they observed the driver with a pale complexion and shaking hands, reports said. Suspecting drug use, deputies searched the man and found several syringes in his pocket.
A search of the vehicle found a grocery bag with 12 individually packages of mushrooms and one heroin ‘works? kit including syringes, tourniquet and spoon.
Deputies turned the suspect and the confiscated materials to the county Narcotics Enforcemetn Unit.
