The Clarkston Jaycees have announced the Independence Township Fourth of July Parade theme ? ‘Independence Through the Decades? ? and invite people in the community to create celebrations of independence based on their favorite decade.
The parade will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4 in downtown Clarkston. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place; best use of theme; and judge’s choice.
Potential parade entrants are asked to make a donation (minimum $10), which will help offset the costs of the parade.
Immediately following the parade, join Independence Township Parks and Recreation’s annual ‘Festival of Fun? at Clintonwood Park.
The Jaycees are looking for volunteers to help on parade day.
Those interested in being a part of tradition or would like a parade entry application are asked to contact Parade Chairman Tim Sievers at 248-975-6313 or tasievers@hotmail.com.
