Goodrich – With congratulations and pledges of help from residents, newly elected village council members took their seats last week.
Village council members Rick Horton, David Lucik, Ralph (Pete) Morey, Rodney Pierson, and Edmund York II were sworn in by clerk Patricia Schierup at the May 9 council meeting.
York was elected president; Morey was elected president pro tem.
York was also renamed to the zoning board of appeals, and the recreation committee.
Horton was named to the planning commission, and the recreation committee.
Morey was named street administrator, while Pierson and Lucik were named to the personnel committee.
All five council members will represent the village on the small cities and villages committee, on a rotating basis.
Another village resident is needed to serve on the zoning board of appeals, which meets to consider zoning variance requests the third Monday of the month when needed.
