The varsity runners competed in a tri-meet with Fenton and Linden last week. Below are the results and highlights for the boys and girls.
Both teams will be competing at the MHSAA Team Regional at Holly High this Friday, May 20.
Girls Track
The girls were defeated by a large margin against Linden (46-87), dropped a close one to Fenton (64-73).
Senior standout Kacey Cookingham continued to dominate the shot put (36?10.5?) and discus (109?5?) events, placing first in the tri over both teams.
The 800M-relay team of Ashlee Eller, Tiara Tatarzcuk, Jacqui Sylva, Deann Kujawa was also successful with a first place time of 1:52.51. Krysten Sylva took first in the 100M dash overall, along with Ashlee Eller in the 200M dash.
The losses drop the girls record to 4-4 overall, and 3-3 in the FML.
Boys Track
The boys split with Linden and Fenton. Oxford defeated the Linden Eagles 73-63, but lost a close meet with Fenton 66-71.
The boys? relays teams continued to step up to the competition.
The 800M-relay team with Nick Collier, Jay Regan, Andrew Klimbal, and James Nelson placed first in the field.
The 400M-relay team consisting of Collier, Regan, Nelson, and Sergio Schlak also took first.
Nick Collier also continued his winning streak, placing first in both the 100M dash and the 200M dash.
Senior Vince Belistsos was again untouchable in the shot put (55?0?) and discus (151?01?).
The boys record is 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the FML.
