Arthur Lamora, 57 was arraigned May 13 at the 52/3 District Court in Rochester on felony charges of child sexually activity and using a computer to commit child sexually abusive activity.
Officers from the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes AgainstChildren Task Force arrested Lamora at his home in Oakland Township on May 13.
Lamora contacted on Jan. 27 an ICAC detective from Colorado Springs Police Department who was posing as a 13-year-old female in an online chat room. Lamora sent sexually abusive material to the ?13-year persona.?
If found guilty, he faces a maximum punishment of four years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine for child sexually abusive activity and four years and/or a $5,000 fine for using a computer to commit the crime of child sexually abusive activity.
The task force was assisted in this case by the Lake Orion Police Department. ICAC is funded by a grant from the US Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
