The annual U.S. Post Office ‘Stamp Out Hunger? food drive held in the Clarkston area on May 14 was a huge success collecting over 18,000 pounds of food for Lighthouse Emergency Services of Clarkston.
‘The Clarkston Post Office extends a thank you to the community for their food donations,? said Postmaster Jane Haugen.
Thanks are also extended to the Waterford Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) and the ninth grade civics class from Clarkston High School. Volunteers from the Waterford H.O.G. loaded, transported and unloaded the non-perishable food items while the ninth grade volunteers from Clarkston High sorted and stacked the food items at Lighthouse Emergency Services.
‘It was a great team effort and your letter carriers thank you for caring,? said Haugen.
