The Wildcats traveled to Holly last Wednesday to take on the Bronchos in league action.
It was Oxford who scored first and kept the lead the entire game.
Senior Dave Kourtjian scored on a junior Bryan Ward assist, and junior Zac Wasylyna rocketed a shot past the Broncho’s keeper on an assist from junior captain Mark Jones.
Holly scored on their second shot on goal and both teams went into the half with Oxford leading 2-1.
Junior Francesco Paese scored midway through the second half on a Kourtjian assist.
The goal rounded out the scoring in the game and sealed the victory for the Oxford.
The Wildcats are 1-1 in the league and 5-1 overall.
Oxford took on Farmington Harrison on the Hawk’s turf this past Saturday.
The Wildcats were strong from the start and had numerous shots on goal to start the half.
Mark Jones scored on a nice feed from junior Bryan Ward, and junior David Hayward scored on a Wasylyna assist to put the Wildcats up 2-0 going into the half.
In the second half, junior Josh Reaume scored the Wildcat’s final goal on a Kourtjian assist.
Oxford’s defense continued to hold strong and only gave the Hawk’s a few opportunities to score, which were denied by senior goalkeeper Shane Rondy who earned the shutout.
The non-league victory improved Oxford’s record to 6-1 overall.
