The varsity golf team had a tough week of competition against league competitors Clio and Fenton.
At Clio Country Club last Tuesday, the Wildcats dropped the match 157-170.
The loss dropped Oxford’s league record to 1-1 in the FML.
Oxford was led by the steady play of senior Dominic Crosson who shot a 38.
In the matchup against Fenton last Friday, the Tigers defeated the Wildcats at Oxford Hills 156-169. It was Crosson and senior Josh Tindall both leading the way with a low score of 41.
Sophomores Tony Frias (43) and Ryan Collier (44) rounded out the scoring for Oxford.
Head coach Terry Kelley noted improvement in his young squad as all 10 of his golfers shot below 50 but added that his team must strive to continue to improve and shoot around 155 to be competitive in the league.
Oxford is now 1-3 in the FML.
