The Independence Township Board of Trustees will hold a hearing on the 2006 budget on Nov. 1 during their regular meeting.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and is held in the Independence Township Library.

An Orion Township truth-in-budgeting public hearing is scheduled for Sept. 19.
The hearing will be at 8 p.m. at the township hall on Joslyn Road. The township is required by state statute to hold a hearing on the proposed annual budgets.
As also required, the township must set millage rates for 2005 and submit them to Oakland County by Sept. 30.
