Second defendant sentenced in armed robbery

The second defendant in the July 18 armed robbery of an Independence Township gas station was sentenced on Nov. 15 in 6th District Court.
Cierra Latriese Horn, 18, of Highland Park, received a sentence of three to 25 years after pleading guilty to one count of armed robbery on Nov. 2.
The other defendant, Romell Lemoyne Goodson, 29, of Highland Park, plead guilty to armed robbery and a sentence enhancement on Sept. 21 according to Oakland Assistant Prosecutor David Williams. The sentence enhancement recognizes Goodson as a habitual offender making the sentencing guidelines higher. Goodson was sentenced to 10 to 30 years on Oct. 4.
The charges stem from the armed robbery of a Shell service station on the northwest corner of I-75 and Sashabaw Road. which occurred around 3:28 a.m. The two held an employee at gunpoint while taking approximately $200 in various bills and quarters.
Goodson was arrested on July 24 after an anonymous tip helped police locate him as he arrived at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Horn surrendered to Independence Township detectives at the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau on July 25.
