A Burton resident was seriously injured after he crashed his vehicle into a tree at approximately 6:48 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Michael Wayne Horne of Burton, 32, was driving his 2002 Chevrolet Venture northbound on Sashabaw Road before apparently losing control of the vehicle.
Horne was ejected from the vehicle as it appears he was not wearing a seat belt. He was transported to Genesys Regional Medical Center for several injuries.
Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the accident, according to a press release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
