Holdup note left for bartender

A bartender at Deer Lake Athletic Club on White Lake Road found a note on her car instructing her to leave the night’s deposit in a plastic bag and stating there was an armed male watching.
The 29-year-old employee left work with the nightly bank deposit, her manager and a patron around 1 a.m. on Jan.20 when she found the note on her windshield. She also found a plastic bag for the deposit under her tire.
After reading the note, the employee ran to her manager’s car and they drove away immediately. While driving to another local business, they called a detective and alerted him of the situation.
As stated in the report, the note said a man armed with a 9-millimeter handgun was watching the employee from nearby. The employee was to leave her cell phone and the deposit in a plastic bag and then drive to the bank like normal.
According to the report, the note named the employee and warned her against doing anything stupid. The note also contained a threat asking the question of whether or not the employee was ‘ready to die for the money.?
Employees of a nearby business said they observed a red Grand Am occupied by two people parked in the rear of the lot near the time of the incident, but could not say if the occupants were involved with the incident.
Detective Darren Ofiara of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department said the incident remains under investigation.
