Young children and parents rejoice, Start Smart is back. Independence Township Parks and Recreation is now accepting registrations for Start Smart, a six-week program in which parents work one on one with their child, ages three to five, in a supportive environment to learn basic sporting skills. Sign up for Start Smart basketball, soccer, baseball, sports development or the new golf class. Classes begin in February on specific weekday evenings, depending on the class.
The next Start Smart soccer program is Feb. 23 from 5:45-6:35 p.m. at Independence Elementary. Cost for is $35 for residents and $40 for non-residents.
The next Start Smart basketball program is Feb. 23 from 6:55-7:45 p.m. at Everest Academy. Cost is $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents.
Please note that every child must be accompanied by a parent or adult.
