What started as a relatively routine traffic stop turned into a big problem for three area minors on March 18.
According to an Oakland County Sheriff’s Department report, the group was pulled over in a car on Brown Road because of a burned out taillight.
As the officer approached the vehicle, he saw two 18-packs of Miller Lite in plain view in the back seat.
No one in the car was of age, and two of the three passengers, including the driver, admitted to having consumed some beer (although no one tested over the legal limit).
In addition, the another passenger admitted to carrying marijuana.
The remaining beer was destroyed, and all three were escorted by the OCSD to one of their homes, and released to a parent.
The group was cited for marijuana use and possession, as well as under 21 consumption and possession of alcohol.
