Try out the new voting machines

Voters will have an opportunity to practice making a ballot (filling in ovals) and inserting it into the new M-100 voting machine in March.
Although the Township Clerk said the new equipment will operate similarly to the previous optical scan tabulators, voters will now be required to fill in an oval to mark their ballot, rather than completing an arrow.
The change was mandated by the State of Michigan.
Hands-on demonstrations will be at Lake Orion High School on March 27, 11:05 a.m.-1:05 p.m.; and on March 30 at Orion Township Hall, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., and 7-9 p.m.
Other demonstrations will be March 31 at the Orion Senior Center, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.; and on April 1 at the Orion Township Library, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
