Do you have a knack for poetry and want to share it with the community?
The Clarkston News is excited to announce a new poetry section each week featuring the work of poets from across the Clarkston community.
We are now accepting poetry submissions from residents of Independence and Springfield townships and the City of the Village of Clarkston.
Submissions should be kept around 50 lines and should be sent via e-mail to shermanpub@aol.com, attn: CN Poetry submission or mailed to 5 South Main Street. Every effort will be made to keep the poem intact as submitted, but changes in columns and spacing may be necessary to fit space. Poems containing vulgar language will be discarded.
The person’s name, address and contact information must be included with the submission so we can contact you if questions arise. Students should include age and school.
While The Clarkston News hopes to print all local submissions, we have signed up with a poetry program through The Poetry Foundation to supply material until submission levels increase. Also watch for poems from Clarkston High Schools ‘Pseudo-Slam? over the next few weeks.
