An Oakland County Sheriff’s Department deputy received minor cuts and abrasions from a physical altercation with a disorderly man on April 6.
According to an OCSD report, a deputy responded to the report of a disorderly 48-year-old white male in the area of Marie Drive and Parkland Road.
Upon arrival of the deputy, the disorderly man became combative and refused verbal commands.
The deputy deployed his taser, but the prongs from the expended taser cartridge were pulled out by the subject.
At that point, the deputy used his baton to strike the subject’s common peroneal nerve, taking him to the ground.
An off-duty deputy in the area witnessed the incident, and offered her assistance in the apprehension.
The subject was arrested and lodged on two counts of assault on a police officer.
