Prescription discount cards available

Oakland County residents can pick up a prescription discount card available from the county through the National Association of Counties (NACo) at various locations and receive an average 20 percent savings on some types of prescriptions. Independence Township pickup locations include the township offices, the City of the Village of Clarkston office, library, senior center and Oakland County Sheriff’s substation on Citation Drive.
The NACo Prescription Discount Card is available with no enrollment fees, no age or income requirements and offers family coverage on one card. There are over 57,000 participating pharmacies and all commonly prescribed medications are covered. NACo contracted with Caremark to provide the discount card for member counties to offer their uninsured and underinsured residents.
