Clarkston’s 1600-meter relay team took fifth place at the Oakland County meet on May 26. The team of Nick LaMora, Jesse Kessler, Matt Alexander and Brad Kolano finished in 3:26 which was good for their best time all season. The team has already qualified for the state finals on June 3.
‘They ran well,? Clarkston Coach Walt Wyniemko said. ‘We have the opportunity to go to the state finals and we are glad to have that chance. That’s all we can ask for is a chance. The weather is supposed to be good and we are excited to be going.?
LaMora also took fifth place in the 800-meters at the Oakland County meet.
The Wolves freshman track team took fifth place at the Oakland County freshman meet. Jeff Kuhl finished in second place in the mile and broke the freshman record with a time of 3:38.2. Tom Follis took third in the 110 hurdles and third in the 300-meter hurdles.
