Stoney Creek scored three unanswered goals in the second half Thursday to defeat Clarkston 3-1 and hand the soccer team its second loss of the season.
The Wolves led 1-0 after Jared Roan scored just over 25 minutes into the Sept. 21 game.
‘We played great in the first half,? Clarkston coach Adam Bican said. ‘We played right according to plan. In the second half we got a little complacent. We fell out of our game plan. (Stoney Creek) put three goals on us and won the game.
‘Stoney Creek is a very well coached team and has good leaders. They are a very good team. To beat a team like that we had to play flawless. We did in the first half, but not in the second half.?
Clarkston’s game against Stoney Creek was the beginning of the second half of the OAA I season. The Wolves hosted Lake Orion on Tuesday night, which finished too late for this edition of The Clarkston News.
The Wolves will take on Troy Athens on Wednesday and then play a non-conference game against Flint Powers on Saturday, before hosting Troy on Oct. 3.
‘I look for them to come out with fire in them and I look for inspired effort from them,? Bican said. ‘Our goals stay the same.?
