Independence Township has a new sign ordinance.
The Township Board voted unanimously to approve the ordinance, which sets rules and fees for temporary signs for local businesses and groups. Previously, the township did not allow temporary signs.
A fee schedule has been set up: $50 for commercial, residential marketing, real estate, or non-profit sign; and $125 for an annual permit for non-profit groups.
