The Lake Orion High School Choirs are sponsoring a Silent Auction and Bake Sale to help fund their trip to New York City to sing at Carnegie Hall.
Both events take place on Tuesday, December 12, the evening of the Winter Vocal Concert at the LOHS Auditorium. Doors for the auction open at 6 p.m. and the concert follows at 7:30 p.m.
Bidders will have many great options ranging from inexpensive gift certificates to a box at The Palace of Auburn Hills for a Pistons game.
Other choices include ski tickets to Pine Knob, Red Wings hockey tickets, a Lions jacket, a spa basket, Brighton jewelry, a Coach purse, bath and beauty products, a free portrait sitting, and an Mp3 player. Organizers are advertising the event as a ‘great place to do holiday gift shopping.?
Students have been busy in Lake Orion in the past months raising funds with car washes, can collections, bowling, candy and pie sales. Donations from the community are accepted.
The Lake Orion Chorale and Concert Choir have been invited to participate in a residency program at Carnegie Hall May 23-27, 2007, culminating in a performance of Stephen Paulus? ‘Songs of Meditation? on Saturday May 26, 2007.
The Festival Chorus will be accompanied by the New England Symphonic Ensemble and conducted by Dr. Sandra Snow of Michigan State University. The LOHS Choir program is under the direction of Deborah Fristad.
