The annual Orion Area Holiday Lighted Parade has become a holiday tradition for Lake Orion residents as well as visitors from neighboring communities.
Now considered to be the fourth-largest lighted parade in Michigan, the number of marching units and other participants continues to grow.
To provide continued financial support for the 13th annual parade, members of the Orion Area Parade Group are sponsoring the popular Holly Jolly Folly fundraiser this Friday, Dec. 1.
The event, which takes place from 7-11 p.m. at the Palace Chrysler Showroom, is a celebration of parades past, present and future, with lots of food and fun.
The OAPG works year-round organizing the parade and making sure all elements of the event come off without a hitch.
The coordinators of the Holly Jolly Folly stress the importance of ongoing support to help maintain Lake Orion’s rich holiday parade tradition. And the OAPG is offering plenty of reasons to attend Friday’s big fundraiser.
The event features outstanding cuisine provided by Palazzo diBocce, entertainment, a silent auction, prizes and lively conversation compliments of the attendees.
The OAPG will also announce the recipient of this year’s Mark Turpen Memorial Scholarship Award.
Tickets for the Holly Jolly Folly are $30 apiece and available by calling 248-391-5962.
Those interested in attending the Holly Jolly Folly are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance, said OAPG member Janine Saputo.
‘Tickets have been selling fast,? said Saputo. ‘This event is a great time for everybody who attends. We have some spectacular entertainment packages that are available to bid on in the silent auction.?
