Joshua Collier won two individual events and was part of two first-place relay teams as Brandon’s varsity boys swimming team defeated the combined Kearsley-Davison team 102-84 in a Dec. 5 meet.
The Blackhawks started out the meet strong, as the 200 yard medley relay team of Tyler Walls, Kyle Larner, Collier and Joshua Dolecki earned a win with a time of 1:59.84.
However, Kearsley-Davison struck back with wins in the 200 yard freestyle and the 200 yard IM to tie the contest at 23.
The Blackhawks came back strong in the 50 yard freestyle, but Kearsley-Davison countered with wins in the one meter diving and 100 yard butterfly, taking a 49-45 lead against the Blackhawks.
As in the 50 yard freestyle, Brandon earned three of the top four spots in the 100 yard freestyle. Kearsley-Davison would regain the lead in the 500 yard freestyle, but from that point, the meet belonged to the Blackhawks, who took first in the final four events of the meet.
