Lakeville Elementary students joined the world’s largest children’s read-a-thon Friday afternoon by participating in Scholastic’s ‘Read For 2007: Read For Life.?
The entire school joined classrooms and libraries around the world as students either read or were read to for exactly 33? minutes or 2,007 seconds.
Each classroom took part in the read-a-thon in their own unique way.
Members of the Oxford High School Captains Club ? captains of the varsity sports teams ? visited some Lakeville classrooms and read their favorite children’s books to students.
Some therapy dogs even showed up to hear a story or two and get a little petting.
