Township check presentation, take two

Suzie Wells, left, and Jim Sunday of Consumers Energy were again on hand at the Dec. 18 township board meeting to present a donation of $100,000 for bike path construction. The pair presented a check to Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk and Parks & Recreation Director Rock Blanchard. A check was originally presented on Aug. 21, but, for budgeting purposes, the donation had to be given again so it could be used by the township beyond 2006. Blanchard said the donation will help with the construction of approximately 2.5 miles of path along the ITC Utility Corridor, between Baldwin Road and the abandoned railroad east of Joslyn Road. That path will eventually connect with the Polly Ann Trail.
