The Independence Township Board of Trustees was to get its first official look at the McLaren Health Care Village at Tuesday’s meeting.
First phase of the $600-million project includes medical office buildings, including a new Clarkston Medical Group, ambulatory care center, restaurants, and shops. Later phases could include a 300-bed, five-story hospital. It would be located on 78 acres on Sashabaw Road just south of the I-75 interchange.
The board also rescheduled its second budget workshop for the 2007 budget, from last week. At issue is whether the township should dip into its savings to bring the budget closer to balance. Doing so could rescue several Parks and Recreation programs, including Deer Lake Beach. Check our website at www.ClarkstonNews.com for results and The Clarkston News for the full story.
