Pine Knob Elementary children got up close and personal Friday with snakes, birds, lizards, and a furry chinchilla.
Paul McCormack of Adrian presented Classroom Critters for students in their classrooms, including Megan Birkett’s first-graders, providing each with opportunities to touch, hear, and smell a variety of animals.
Students didn’t know what McCormack would pull out of his storage crates next ? from a cooing dove to a blue tongued skank lizard named Chow Chow.
The program is aligned with Michigan science benchmarks, which call for hands-on learning and direct experiences.
