Kingsbury art on display

Congratulations to Oxford’s own Jim Saunders. The Kingsbury Country Day School eighth-grader was chosen to participate in a statewide art show sponsored by the Association of Independent Michigan Schools.
Saunder’s striking three-dimensional piece (shown right) will be on display at the Southfield Public Library until April 30.
The mixed media frame and watercolor painting show off his creative use of ordinary materials combined with a dynamic sense of color.
Want to see how artistic the rest of Kingsbury’s student body can be?
Stop by Margot’s Gallery & Frame in downtown Oxford from April 20-28 to see samples of original art created by all the students from the junior kindergarteners all the way up to the eighth-graders. Each of Kingsbury’s 123 students will contribute a minimum of two pieces to the gallery show.
