Each year residents of Lake Orion look forward to the fireworks held every summer by the Lake Orion Fireworks Association (LOFA).
‘The fireworks are in jeopardy. Corporate donors are dropping out or scaling back,? said Carl Cyrowski of the LOFA.
Cyrowski said that he understands that with the current economy, money is tight for both businesses and families.
The LOFA will be holding an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet fund-raiser on June 17, at Buffalo Wild Wings on M-24. The buffet will run from 9 a.m. until noon. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children.
There will also be a silent auction, held by the Goalies Den. Individuals can bid on hockey, golf, baseball and other sports memorabilia, with the LOFA receiving a percentage of the profit.
The fireworks are scheduled for June 30.
For those interested in making a donation, envelopes can be found inside this week’s Lake Orion Review. Donations can be sent to LOFA at 3677 S. Lapeer Road, Lake Orion, MI 48360.
