Paint Creek Cemetery was honored with a Michigan Historical Marker on Saturday, June 2.
The dedication ceremony recognized Paint Creek Cemetery’s long history in Oakland Township, those interred there, and the Paint Creek Cemetery Association (PCCA) for over 150 years of caring for the two acres of grounds.
Presenting the marker to the PCCA board members was Michigan Historical Commissioner Mike Ranville.

The cemetery was founded in 1832 as an original pioneer settler burying ground. Burials continue on the grounds to this day.
Paint Creek Cemetery is located on Orion Road north of Lake George Road.
