For those elementary, middle and high school athletes interested keeping in shape over the summer, they can head up to the Lake Orion High School Track on Monday nights at 6 p.m.
Coaches, who are experienced in cross country and track, will be present to share their joy of running and fitness with others.
Parents are encouraged to participate with their children, and any student under the age of 9 must have a participating adult along with them.
Elementary runners will spend time with Coach Amy Lieblein, who will introduce various track events such as long distance running, long jump, sprinting and hurdles, as well as having fun with running games.
Middle school and high school athletes will join LOHS Coaches Stan Ford and Debbie Sherman to continue their athletic conditioning and prepare for various athletic teams in the fall.
Adults are also welcome and those present can workout on their own or join any of the other groups.
Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and dress for the weather.
All elementary-aged participants must have a medical waiver on file. For those who don’t, waivers will be available at open track night. Sports physicals are also encouraged for all participants.
