Due to the increased demand on the municipal water supply for lawn irrigation during warm weather, both Orion Township and the Village of Lake Orion have implemented a voluntary odd/even lawn sprinkling restriction through October.
Water customers with odd-numbered addresses are asked to restrict their outdoor water usage to odd-numbered dates and even-numbered addresses are asked to do the same on even-numbered dates.
Also requested by both governing bodies is that all non-essential water usage be restricted between the hours of 7-10 a.m. and 5-9 p.m.
Conservation through the voluntary program helps provide adequate water pressure for drinking, sanitary usage and fire fighting requirements.
Those with questions can call the village at (248)693-8391 or the township at (248)391-0304, ext. 118.
