News reports this weekend mistakedly linked Richard C. Ayers, owner of Mr. G’s Hair Care Center in Independence Township, to a murder case, and he wants to set the record straight.
‘This is very serious ? it’s been like a whirlwind,? Ayers said.
Newspaper reports confused Ayers, 35-year resident of the Clarkston area and community activist,with his son, Richard J. Ayers.
The younger Ayers, owner of the Hair Studio in Shelby Township, was arraigned Aug. 3 on three counts of solicitation to commit murder. He is currently in jail in Lapeer County on contempt charges relating to his divorce.
Richard C. Ayers has no connection to the case, he said.
‘I found out about it (murder charges) from the paper,? he said.
