Connecting to the online world will get a little easier for patrons of the Springfield Township library once a highly-anticipated project to give the library wireless internet access becomes reality over the next several weeks.
‘We’ve been working on this project for several months now,? said Cathy Forst, Springfield Township Library director.
‘We’ve had lots of requests for wireless, so this will make it a lot more convenient for people who want to bring their laptops in the library.?
The equipment was ordered last week, and Forst estimated installation would be complete in a month or less.
‘We’re excited about it,? she said. ‘We’re looking forward to having another service available for our patrons.?
Library Network fees will cover installation costs in the library. The Springfield Township Board voted to approve a one-time cost of $427.56 to expand the service to the civic center meeting room, just across the hall from the library, as well as lower-level township offices, located downstairs.
The library is located at 12000 Davisburg Rd. in Davisburg. Call 248-846-6550 or visit www.springfield.lib.mi.us
