Man arrested for seventh offense

Shortly after 11 p.m. last Thursday, the Lake Orion Police Department received a phone call from Sunoco about an extremely intoxicated person trying to drive.
Police arrived on the scene and stopped the vehicle, which was driven by Robert Wilcox, 59, of Lake Orion.
Wilcox had a blood-alcohol content in excess of .20.
‘That’s enough to get three adults arrested for drunk driving,? said Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh.
This was the seventh time Wilcox has been arrested for operating while intoxicated. Anything after the third offense is a 1-5 year felony. Wilcox has previously spent time in jail for his repeat pattern of drunk driving.
Wilcox was arraigned in front of Magistrate Judith Holtz. He is currently being held in the Oakland County jail with a $100,000 cash bond, with no 10-percent.
‘We are fortunate no member of the public or Mr. Wilcox was killed that night,? said Narsh. ‘Only prison can prevent him from driving.?
