Perry among top fishermen

The Oakland County Parks Annual Fishing Contest winners reeled in trophy fish during the July competition. Contestants fish in Buhl Lake at Addison Oaks County Park or Crooked Lake at Independence Oaks County Park.
Winners at Addison Oaks included A.J. Perry of Lake Orion, crappie
(13.5 inches, 15 ounces); Gregg Pisani of Warren, northern pike ( 33 inches, 5 pounds, 4 ounces); and Don Fahlquist of Oxford, large-mouth bass (15 inches, I pound, 6 ounces).
Winners at Independence Oaks were Robert Messengar of Sterling Heights, pike (25 inches, 3 pounds, 6 ounces); Caedmon Tracey of Ortonville, bluegill (7.5 inches, 5 ounces); Patricia Carreker of Clarkston, perch (11 inches, 9 ounces); and Steve Kuhfeldt of Royal Oak, large-mouth bass (18 inches, 3.8 pounds).
Contestants register fish caught with park staff the day they are caught. The biggest ‘catches? are determined by multiplying the length of the fish by its weight.
Each winner is awarded an Oakland County Parks Family Fun Passbook
($130 value).
