Plenty of orange barrels mark road work in Independence Township, reports the Road Commission for Oakland County.
White Lake Road, Clement to Andersonville roads, is closed this week for work on its railroad crossing. Detour is Andersonville to Dixie Highway to White Lake Road. It is set to reopen Oct. 12.
Work continues on Sashabaw Road, from just north of Flemings Lake Road south to I-75.
Developer Silverman Development Company is widening the road to a continuous three lanes, with continuous center left-turn lane, along with a development in the area.
The road remains open, but motorists should expect some delays.
The project should be complete by early November.
Clarkston Road at Sashabaw Road is also under construction. RCOC is rebuilding and widening the intersection.
Work will continue through November, then stop for the winter and resume in the spring.
The commission does not expect road closures. The project should be complete next summer.
