In a game that Coach Jim Manzo described as ‘sloppy,? the Lake Orion boys basketball squad opened their 2007-08 campaign with a 65-46 victory over Rochester in an OAA II showdown.
The Dragons were led by Drew Maynard’s game-high 22 points, 12 of which came in the fourth quarter. Anthony Fields added 12 and Chris Lum had 10 for Lake Orion.
Rochester was led by Bill Belmihaub’s 20 points.
The Dragons are back in action Friday night, when the host Southfield-Lathrup in a crossover contest.
The 2-0 varsity girls hoop squad opens OAA III play at home against Oak Park on Thursday night.
