Lakeville Elementary first and second-graders deserve a big around of applause for the Christmas musical they put on Dec. 6 at Oxford High’s Performing Arts Center.
It was called ‘A Place in the Christmas Choir? and the story began with Santa Claus in the midst of rehearsing the Christmas Choir, which consisted of Elves, Christmas Cats, Dogs and Reindeer.
Things fall apart quickly when Happy the Hound Dog lends his awful howl to the chorus. Everyone makes fun of the hound dog and no one thinks he should be in the choir.
Even Santa himself is skeptical of Happy’s singing abilities. Fortunately, Mrs. Claus saves the day and proves that there’s room for everyone in the Christmas choir.
The children did a wonderful job performing six original songs mixed with some fun choreography.
