Split week for sluggers

Oxford’s baseball team had its ups and downs last week. On May 1, against Fenton, the Wildcats won the first game 2-1 and lost the second 1-0.
In the first game Kyle Teague, struck out 10 batters and allowed 4 hits. Coach Kurt Nuss said Russ Luxton pitched a 3-hitter, but received ‘no run support.?
Oxford faced Clio, who’s ranked #1 in Division 2, on Monday. The Wildcats lost the first game 4-2, but came back to win the second 4-3. Again, Teague struck out 10 batters in game one and only allowed five hits.
James McLean had a 2-run homer in game two. Nuss said Teague scored a ‘walk off homer? to win the second game on the first pitch of the 8th inning.
The team is 6-2 in the Flint Metro League and 13-5 overall.
