James and Lisa Bannasch of Clarkston are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Derek James, to Jessica Esther Schmeck, daughter of Anthony and Mary Ellen Schmeck, Jr., of Plano, Texas.
Derek is a 1998 graduate of Clarkston High School, 2002 graduate of Central Michigan University, and a 2006 graduate of University of Michigan, where he received a Master’s of Music in Bassoon Performance and a Master’s of Music in Music Education.
Jessica is a 2002 graduate of Plano West Senior High School in Plano, Texas, and a 2006 graduate of University of Michigan, where she received a Bachelor’s of Music in Oboe Performance and Music Education.
A July wedding in Dallas, Texas, is planned. Derek and Jessica will reside in Atlanta, Ga., after their wedding, where they both teach elementary music.
