From Berlin: Thanks Todd family

Dear editor:
(Editor’s note: Carolin Didszun from East Berlin, Germany stayed with Pastor Kelly Todd of Christ Lutheran Church and his family while she attended Goodrich High School this school year as an exchange student.) I am Carolin Didszun. I am an exchange student from Germany and my host family is the Todd family. I just wanted to say a few words to my wonderful second family.
I had a blast with you!
If I wouldn’t have had you my exchange year wouldn’t have been that great. I especially enjoyed the trip to Canada for my birthday in December. We were having so much fun at that beautiful place with all the lights for Christmas.
The suppers together with the whole family at the house were fun too, because I loved the conversations between my brothers. They would just say stupid things to each other. Then my parents would say something about it, and from a minute to another they would all tease each other and I would just sit there smiling.
I will even miss going to church every Sunday and hearing Mom singing the hymns. Or seeing Dad raising his arms and the entire church would stand up.
Oh yes, I had a lot of fun there. And I will always think about these fun times when I am getting ‘Todd family sick? in Germany. I will remember all that and I will get excited for my next visit.
I am going to miss you… and I already do, but I just know we will see each other again and it is not a goodbye forever.
I love you, my parents and brothers!
I hope for a soon getting together.
Lots of kisses, Carolin (Apple Strudel)
PS: Mom wasn’t it soft and kuddly?
Carolin Didszun.
