Margaisa the Fairy Godmother recently appeared at the Orion Township Library to participate in the program, Tea with the Princesses.
She read stories, sang songs, and had cookies and tea with young princesses and one young knight.
Her message to the children, and to all others, is simple: You have all the things you need right in your heart to make a difference and do good in the world, and your mission, with that interior knowledge, is also to help other people.
In case you forgot your fairytale history, fairy godmothers are mortal, not of the fairie folk clan, but they may interface with them. They show up in times of need – for anyone who wishes for help – to lend advice, offer help and remind the person who needs them that they have all the things in their own hearts to do what is best for the situation, and that they are to help others.
A fairy godmother can offer most any kind of assistance, cheer someone up, chauffeur when needed, cause ripples of laughter and write unusual letters, but she does not perform miracles, and she can’t make anyone fall in love with you! She can help to point you in a new direction if you are requesting that.
Margaisa is really Peggy Barry Bartz, owner of A Rose in the Road, a multifaceted company, in the realm of real life, with music, coaching and positive thinking.
She has been in the musical and spiritual world in her working life as a musician and director of music, but also is a professional custom seamstress. She directs two musical groups, one at a high school in Detroit and one all male singing group located in the metro Detroit area. She plays piano and sings at various venues in the area.
Bartz is currently the president of Lake Orion Sunrise Rotary, an international service club whose motto is Service above Self.
Besides her teas at the libraries, she is available for birthday parties for any age, wedding showers, baptisms and anniversary celebrations or any occasion where some practical advice and whimsy are welcome.
She does not have to sing at these occasions, unless requested, but she will show up costumed and ready to shed smiles and sunshine.
She can be reached through her website, www.aroseintheroad.com, or at (586)242-0884.
